Go Seo Jin, a newly immigrated Korean father struggles to work the English GPS as his wife and son uncomfortably judge his every action. With clicking random buttons and scrolling through random outputs, the family ends up in a restaurant. Seo Jin practices his English and goes into the sandwich shop only to be terrified of the English language. He can’t understand a thing. Meanwhile, Go Min Jung tries to entertain their son, Go Young Jae. Seo Jin comes back with nothing, only to be kicked and receive a tantrum from his son. Seo Jin, despite fear, goes back into the sandwich shop and stares as his fear completely envelops him. Seo Jin steps out and throws his dictionary away and thinks. Moments later, Seo Jin succeeds and celebrates a small victory in the harsh reality of the immigrant experience.

First Night

A newly immigrated Korean father goes into a deli trying to order food for his family– only with the help of a dictionary.

When an estranged daughter packs up her late father’s home, a wind lures her to a mysterious little locked door. As she sorts through his things, the door — like grief — haunts her. Finally, she quiets it with vodka, boxes up his bedroom, and learns he was a closeted gay man with a buried past. In a frantic attempt to be close to him, she layers on his clothes and passes out. She’s awoken by a man at the front door who reveals he was her father’s partner, and her father simply ran out of time to reach out to her. Back inside, the wind howls. When she searches for the key, she finds it inside a drawer of her childhood photos.

When Mr. Thomas receives a bad prognosis from the doctors at his nursing home, he makes a macabre request of his last remaining friend on earth, a nurse named Erv. But Erv refuses Mr. Thomas's plea, and instead decides to do something else: break out from the nursing home and experience one last adventure, as friends.

She sneaks prescription pills into her bag behind her boyfriend Cameron's back, and uses copious amounts of wine to cope with her mixed feelings. When her mother tries her again after dinner, she is driven to taking a pill, and the combination leads to an explosive fight between her and Cameron in front of their friends. It's only when Olive explains the gravity of the situation the next day Ivey realizes how much work is ahead of her to undo the damage.
